Infrared observations of southern WC9 stars and He 2-113.
Abstract
Observations between I 57 and are presented of eight southern WC9 stars. Three of these possess well-defined blackbody components in the near-infrared region suggesting that thermal emission by large graphite grains is observed. None of the eight stars can be identified as a relatively evolved WC9 star like Ve 2-45. New observations are also presented of the object He 2-113 in the range - , which confirm the suggestion that it represents a very cool WC-type nucleus of a planetary nebula. A very large ratio of infrared to Lcc luminosity is found for this star.
