Monochromatic isophotometry of planetary nebulae - I. Hbeta observations of NGC 6210, 6543, 6826, 7009 and 7662.
Abstract
The spectracon electronographic detector, with its advantages over photography of large dynamic range, linearity and high detective quantum efficiency, is used in a program of monochromatic surface photometry of planetary nebulae. The instrumentation and data reduction techniques are described. Data in the form of H (A 4861 A) isophote maps are presented for NGC 6210, 6S43 6826, 7009, 7027 and 7662. Each object is discussed with particular reference to faint outer envelopes and maximum overall dimensions.
