On the accuracy of the determination of electron density and collision frequency with the Faraday experiment
Abstract
The basic principles of the Faraday rotation and differential absorption technique for measurements of the electron density and the collision frequency in the ionosphere are presented and some of the factors of importance to the accuracy of the method are discussed. Measured values of the Faraday rotation and the absorption are compared with calculated values obtained by a simulation computer programme.
