Far-Infrared Laser Action in Optically Pumped CD3OD
Abstract
Laser action in optically pumped completely deuterated methanol is reported for the first time. All the lines were observed in a continuous-wave mode pumped with a conventional low-power CO2 laser. Polarization was vertical with respect to the plane of the pump laser polarization in all the lines. Wavelengths measured comprised 41, 184, 229, 255, 299, 312, 339, and 406 microns.
