An integral invariant in inviscid fluid flow
Abstract
An integral invariant, which in a certain sense is a generalization of Kelvin's circulation theorem, is proposed for barotropic fluid flow. In addition, the invariant provides an alternative characterization of certain vector fields (discussed by Helmholtz) that are associated with the motion of fluids.
