Parameters of X-band waveguide star junction circulator
Abstract
A mathematical analysis of 3-port Y-junction has been made in detail to determine the circulation conditions. Also, an indigenously designed X-band waveguide, Y-junction circulator has been described and experimental investigations regarding input and output circulating impedances have been made as a function of frequency which provide necessary information for design purposes. Further VSWR, isolation and insertion loss of the device have been measured which give the performance characteristics. It is emphasized that besides the well known parameters VSWR, isolation and insertion loss, the input and output circulating impedances of the circulator give a good account of themselves to explain the circulation conditions and hence they provide additional design parameters.
