Analysis of the applicability of the law of additive thermal resistances under transient conditions
Abstract
The applicability of the law of additive thermal resistances is analyzed on the basis of temperature field characteristics which form the basis of the method of two temperature-time intervals. The conditions under which the law may be used to determine the thermophysical characteristics of materials are identified. It is shown that the error involved in the determination of heat conductivity depends on the nature of the temperature field and on the relationship between the thermophysical characteristics of the heat-releasing and the heat-absorbing medium.
