Efficiency and matching tradeoffs for inductively loaded short antennas
Abstract
A piecewise sinusoidal moment method is used to analyze a short monopole antenna in series with a loading coil. The method used gives accurate current distributions and impedances for thin-wire antennas and scatterers. The input impedance, efficiency, and bandwidth are discussed. Graphs are presented which allow tradeoffs to be made between slightly reduced efficiency and larger input resistance.
