Mass spectroscopy of the HCN-laser plasma
Abstract
The chemical composition of the HCN-laser discharge plasma is measured. The results show the important role of hydrogen in the HCN laser. Additional experiments with different gas mixtures prove that hydrogen molecules are necessary for population inversion in the HCN laser.
