A frequency modulation companded single channel per carrier communication satellite system
Abstract
An experimental investigation involving the setting up of a transmission link was conducted in order to verify the correctness of theoretical calculations which had shown that the use of a companded single channel per carrier frequency modulation system employing syllabic companding gives a large increase in the telephone channel capacity of communication satellite transponders. The results of the tests confirmed the expected system performance.
