The influence of interference on the siting of earth stations
Abstract
The results of studies of interference in the case of ground stations are discussed, taking into account the site shielding factor, the protection afforded by frequency separation between wanted and unwanted carriers, and the effects of radar interference. The effects of aircraft in the vicinity of a ground station are also considered, giving attention to the partial blockage of the antenna beam and the scatter of energy into the ground station antenna from aircraft.
