Earth-to-space links for broadcasting satellites
Abstract
Difficulties related to limitations concerning the frequency spectrum which is available for broadcasting satellites can be alleviated by reducing the demand on up-link bandwidth needed for a broadcasting satellite system. Various approaches for effecting such a reduction in bandwidth demand are discussed. Attention is given to problems of frequency sharing, increased frequency reuse on the up-path, and alternative modulation methods.
