An elliptical transmission problem for piecewise holomorphic functions in the complex plane
Abstract
An example of the boundary value problems often encountered in elasticity theory, bending theory, heat transfer theory, and quantum field theory is presented. With the aid of an integral equation method, the Fredholm property of an elliptical transmission problem is determined. The problem is concluded to be of the Fredholm type if it is elliptical and if a certain equation (derived in the present paper) holds.
