The turbulent boundary layer directly behind the reattachment of a separation area
Abstract
The parameters measured in the study include the pressure distribution at the wall, the wall shear stress characteristics, the distribution of the mean velocity in the boundary layer, and the distribution of the Reynolds shear stress in the boundary layer. The relaxation characteristics of the boundary layer are discussed. The characteristics of the flow in the boundary layer do not correspond to equilibrium conditions. Attention is given to questions regarding the possibilities provided by current computational procedures for the study of relaxation phenomena.
