Transformation of plane luminance images by means of electro-optical masks /Liquid crystal matrix/
Abstract
A technique to subject luminance images to signal transformation by means of electro-optical masks is described, starting out with a general description of the technique and its several configurations. This is followed by the description of an experimental array which can be used to accomplish an image signal transformation on the basis of two-dimensional Walsh functions with the aid of a DAP-effect liquid crystal matrix. In an earlier paper (Roszeitis, 1974) the principle of this equipment realization of the Walsh transformation was presented. The present paper reports on circuitry details of the control circuit for the matrix and on first experimental results.
