Gewichtsfunktionen der Ionosphäre für ein Gruppenlaufzeitmodell und verschiedene Modelle des Amplitudenganges — Beitrag zur Theorie dispersionsbehafteter Systeme
Abstract
If the ionosphere is examined with single impulses or stochastic signals, as an alternative to the usually used method of echosounding with modulated impulses, the impulse response of the ionosphere can be obtained. This function is represented and discussed for one model of the groupdelay time and several models of the amplitude response. The fact that the ionosphere is characterized by strong dispersion, leads to special properties of the impulse response. The correspondence between the frequency of the impulse response at a certain time and the frequency of an equal delay time is examined. It is shown that the envelope of the impulse response also corresponds to the amplitude response as a function of frequency. The results suggest a simple method of analyzing impulse responses to obtain the components of the system: groupdelay time and amplitude response.
