The question of the distribution of shear stress for twodimensional free turbulent flows
Abstract
The flows considered represent flow processes which are not exposed to effects produced by walls. Reichardt (1950) has obtained a general relation regarding the total momentum in such flows. An investigation is conducted with the objective to derive a general relation also for the partial momentum. Such a relation provides the basis for the determination of the distribution of a characteristic parameter of the turbulent shear stress in free turbulent flows. Symbols and notation used by Reichardt are retained in the investigation.
