Optoelectronic sensors with CCDs
Abstract
The operational principles involved in the use of semiconductor sensors are discussed along with questions regarding the status of development of these devices. A number of problems exist concerning an employment of sensors with CCDs. However, approaches developed in connection with the design of MOS circuits could be successfully used to overcome these difficulties. Charge-coupled devices are considered, giving attention to their principles of operation, questions of transfer inefficiency, bulk charge coupled devices, and CCD structures. A description is given of one-dimensional and two-dimensional optoelectronic sensors with CCDs.
