Use of edge condition in modal analysis of some discontinuities in waveguides
Abstract
A brief mathematical analysis of two waveguide structural discontinuity problems, employing the edge condition, is given. As opposed to the classical truncation method, the edge condition technique conserves the infinite character of the equation systems obtained by modal analysis. The unilateral method is more advantageous than the bilateral method, particularly because programming becomes clearly simpler in the former case.
