Experimental study of the pressure distribution on a solid, electroconductive sphere in the presence of a transverse magnetic induction field
Abstract
Pressure profile measurements on solid, conductive spheres in the presence of a magnetic field transverse to the average direction of flow of a conducting liquid. It is noted that the magnetic field introduces a dissymmetry in the pressure distribution. Development of this dissymmetry is examined, along with stagnation point pressure and drag coefficient, for Re between 107 and 13450 and for M between 0 and 160.
