Photometric Parameters of the Comet Kohoutek 1973f
Abstract
On the basis of the author's own photoelectric measurements and those of other authors, the photometric parameters of the comet Kohoutek 1973f were derived. The authors used their own graphical method to reduce the observations; this enables one to transform the observations, obtained at different focal diaphragms, to any diaphragm and, thus, also to any linear diameter of the comet. The photometric parameters mzero and n were computed for 5 selected intervals and for a linear diameter of the inner coma of 40.000 km. The relation between these parameters was determined. The parameter n varies little with the distance of the comet from the sun, and the comet did not display sudden changes of brightness in the interval of observation.
