A model for VV8.
Abstract
We present new optical observations for the peculiar emission-line object VV 8 and investigate a fairly general model of the object. VV 8 probably is not a young planetary; instead, it is a shell star with a rather thick shell that produces the supergiant absorption spectrum characteristic of shell stars and in addition produces considerable reddening of the central star's spectrum.
