Distribution of tall prominences
Abstract
Prominences with heights of at least 100,000 km and observed in both hemispheres at a heliographic latitude of 45 deg were investigated to determine the time dependence of their transition probability. This is defined as the probability of observing n prominences after a certain number of solar rotations when a specified number of prominences have been observed during a given rotation. It is found that the transition probability did not change with time after 8, 10, and 13 rotations.
