Simple analytic solutions to incompressible irrotational axisymmetric flows
Abstract
The investigation reported is concerned with the derivation of simple exact solutions to the stream function equation for incompressible, irrotational, axisymmetric flow. With the aid of an example it is illustrated that the presented exact solutions may be employed to test numerical procedures for axisymmetric flow. Static pressures and meridional velocities as calculated by computer programs are compared with the exact solution.
