The CO fundamental bands in the solar spectrum.
Abstract
The result of a study of CO lines in the delta v equals 1 bands in the solar disk spectrum is presented. Recently, the photospheric spectrum has been recorded using a balloon-borne spectrometer from 40 km altitude. From a comparison between the observed and synthetic solar spectra, an agreement is shown using the best available solar and molecular data. Results are discussed and compared with other investigations in order to explain an apparent discrepancy between previous results.
