Lower limits for the interstellar reddening at the galactic poles.
Abstract
Summary. Interstellar polarization data are used to derive lower limits for the interstellar reddening at the galactic poles. The mean colour excess E(B - V) is found to be >0.011 at the north galactic pole (b> 700) and >0.016 at the south galactic pole (b < 700). Key words: interstellar reddening distribution of interstellar matter
