Integration of equations for one-dimensional shock waves
Abstract
Two cases are discussed concerning the self-similar solutions of second-order nonlinear partial differential equations. The first case concerns the hyperbolic equations in gas dynamics which describe the propagation of an unsteady plane shock wave, whereas the other one deals with the generalized parabolic equation for the nonlinear skin effect.
