Survey regarding qualitative and quantitative measurements of particles in the atmosphere /Problems and theory concerning a quantitative determination/
Abstract
The presence of aerosol particles in the atmosphere is considered along with the optical effects produced by these particles. Relations between optical parameters and aerosol concentration are examined, taking into account an investigation conducted by Charlson et al. (1968) and an application of the Mie theory. Attention is given to a utilization of optical radar for the quantitative determination of particle distributions and computations presented by Quenzel et al. (1974).
