Requirements of measurement technology concerning optical radar systems, taking into consideration the surveillance of emissions
Abstract
The reasons for the introduction of measures regarding a surveillance of pollutant emissions are considered, taking into account the obligation to prevent a pollution of the atmosphere by chemical agents which have harmful effects on people, animals, plants, or material property. The characteristics of pollutant emissions are examined along with suitable approaches for pollution control. Questions concerning an application of optical radar for the control measures are discussed. Attention is given to the technical requirements for the operational systems, the parameter values to be measured, the determination of mass concentration, aspects of measurement times, and questions of surveillance efficiency.
