Results from the Parkes 2700 MHz Survey
Abstract
A survey for extragalactic radio sources was started at Parkes in 1967 in anticipation of availability of large southern telescopes for correlated optical studies at 2700 MHz. The survey of each region was carried out in two stages: (1) scanning to find the sources, and (2) accurate measurements of the positions and intensities of sources found in the survey scans. Measurements were reduced by an on-line computer, the only off line analysis consisting of the application of measured pointing corrections and intensity scale factors. Results were discussed.
