Effect of dihedron on slender prismatic planing bodies
Abstract
Models of slender prismatic planing bodies were tested in a hydrodynamic tunnel. It was found that the hydrodynamic forces on the models increased as the dihedral angle and the ratio of the width to the wetted length increased. The results are compared to other experimental data and to calculations made using simple or semi-empirical theories.
