On dynamic properties of disclinations in the continuum model
Abstract
The present paper discusses disclinations in terms of the continuum model of crystals. The motions of disclinations due to self-forces alone is investigated. It is found that disclinations are bound to an equilibrium position with a characteristic restoring force. When the motions of disclinations are due to self-forces alone, only damped oscillations are to be expected.
