Comparison of high-speed shearing interferometer measurements with hot-wire anemometer temperature data
Abstract
The interferometer considered measures the modulation transfer function (MTF) of a 1.1-inch collimated beam in ten milliseconds. MTF data obtained from the interferometer have been compared with temperature covariance data obtained from a dual-probe hot-wire anemometer. Average MTF values for the two methods are found to be in reasonable agreement. The design of the interferometer is discussed along with details concerning the average MTF calculation from the temperature covariance function.
