Theoretical and experimental study of a junction circulator around its junction region
Abstract
A computer program was used to describe the behavior of a junction circulator with circular metallization. Below the resonant frequency circulator types using partly magnetized ferrites can be correctly characterized. For other types the insertion losses can be taken into account. An application to two commercial circulators was tested and the characteristics were noted. The program also enabled input impedance variations by electric field mapping and drawing the polar diagrams to be studied. Some explanations are proposed in respect of the bandpass increase and limitations in bandpass appearing in ternary symmetry structures with various metallization shapes.
