Application of optical techniques for study of small-scale turbulence
Abstract
The problem involving the possibility of measuring the parameters of locally isotropic turbulence in the atmosphere and ocean is discussed with the aid of optical methods permitting the recording of fluctuations in the amplitude and phase of a plane light wave, propagating in a turbulent medium. Attention is given to the general questions of a link between a medium's turbulence and optical properties and the specific optical methods which can be utilized for collecting data on a medium's turbulent characteristics.
