Generation and amplification of light by stimulated scattering
Abstract
The dynamics of Raman lasers with two-Stokes-component laser action is studied experimentally and theoretically. The transient processes and saturation effects during amplification by stimulated scattering are investigated. It is shown experimentally that in a saturation mode, the quantum yield to the first Stokes component may be close to 100%. The influence of the pumping spectrum on amplification by stimulated scattering is evaluated.
