Interaction of a neutral gas jet with a plasma stream
Abstract
Attempts made to examine the interaction of a neutral gas plume with a plasma stream are reported. A Langmuir probe was used in conjunction with an x, y plotter to examine the change in ionization density at points in the plumes. Axial and radial traces were made at differing flow rates and graphs were plotted and compared. Analysis results show two types of plumes occured, blue and pink. Their occurence was found to be dependent on flow rate. An examination was also made of plume variation with increasing anode current.
