The laminar boundary layer - A representative-section method
Abstract
The reported investigation is concerned with an improvement of the current method used in laminar boundary layer theory. This theory has as its primary aim the derivation of the values for the shear stress and the heat flow at the wall, taking into account conditions for which the velocity and the enthalpy drop are known. The investigation considers the two-dimensional subsonic flow of a fluid having constant properties. Attention is given to problems of momentum transfer, the heat transfer coefficient, and variable wall-enthalpy effects.
