Contribution to the study of vibrating gyrometers
Abstract
The design and the principles of operation of vibrating gyrometers are considered. A vibrating gyrometer contains two oscillators. The amplitude of the second tuning fork is proportional to the gyration to be measured. Every mechanical system of two oscillators coupled by Coriolis forces constitutes a potential gyrometer. A specific gyrometer design is discussed, giving attention to details of performance and an analysis of the parameters which affect the output signal.
