Instrumentation for boundary layer research in meteorology
Abstract
Turbulent processes in the surface layer of the atmosphere can be studied by the gradient approach which makes use of the mean profiles of wind, potential temperature, and specific humidity. The development of an anemometer for satisfying the instrumental requirements involved in the investigations is discussed together with the design of a system to obtain the needed temperature data. Fast response sensors for measuring air flow are also considered.
