Dynamics of formation and interaction of Langmuirian solitons and strong turbulence
Abstract
A model of a strong Langmuirian turbulence as a gas of Langmuirian solitons, e.g., lumps of oscillations, located in regions of reduced plasma density, arising under the influence of the pressure from a hf field is presented. Using a computer in the one-dimensional case, the article describes the study of the formation of solitons from broad packets of Langmuirian waves and elementary processes involving the solitons--merger of solitons in pair collisions, interaction of a soliton with sound pulses, breakup of a soliton by sound, created in the merger of two solitons. A kinetic equation is developed for a gas composed of solitons. Its solution is found to be in satisfactory agreement with the results of numerical modeling of one-dimensional Langmuirian turbulence.
