Progress in the study of a mathematical model of Chandler motion
Abstract
The present work gives an analytic development of a two-dimensional model of Chandler motion. The existence and stability of a free precessional component is proved, which is excited by the sun-moon forces to a high frequency as a consequence of the nonlinearity of the mantle-nucleus coupling.
