Nondimensional numbers associated with heat transfer in heat pipes
Abstract
The principal dimensionless quantities associated with the thermodynamic regime of a vapor flow at the interior surface of the porous wall in a heat pipe are defined. An analytic expression for the Nusselt number is obtained by local integration of the overall energy equation. The other dimensionless quantities are expressed in terms of the geometry of the porous structure and the thermodynamic parameters of the heat transfer fluid.
