Spin testing of ceramic turbine rotors
Abstract
Advantages of the 'multidensity' approach used in producing a ceramic automotive turbine motor are briefly considered. The capability of each of the components involved and the strength of the bond between them has to be determined by a spin testing process. Details of the testing procedure are discussed along with the design of the testing apparatus and the results obtained in the evaluation tests.
