Study of the longitudinal evolutions of a stationary satellite, submitted to gravitational perturbations
Abstract
The strongest perturbations to which a synchronous satellite is subjected are related to the harmonics of the earth potential. The motion of a synchronous satellite is analyzed, giving particular attention to effects produced by the potential of the earth. Optimal corrections for stationkeeping in the vicinity of the nominal position are discussed along with a computation of optimal procedures for corrections.
