Determination of the rate constant of the gas-phase reaction of the C3F7 radical and the I/2P3/2/ atom by an absolute photometry technique
Abstract
The differential quantum yield of the stimulated peak emission of a C3F7I laser, measured by a photometry technique, was found to equal (140 plus or minus 20) and (148 plus or minus 12)% for initial perfluoropropyl iodide pressures of 22.3 and 74.2 torr, respectively. Using these quantum yield data as a basis, the rate constant of the corresponding gas-phase reaction is equal to (1.5 plus or minus 0.5) by 10 to the minus 10th power cm3/molecul-sec.
