Coefficients of light absorption in plasma
Abstract
Consideration of the problem of allowing for nonideality of the plasma when calculating the absorption coefficients and mean radiation paths with the aid of an exact numerical solution of the ThomasFermi equation for nonzero values of T. It is shown that the effects of Coulomb interaction and degeneration are significant in the density range of about 10 to the 23rd power per cu cm and at temperatures less than 10 eV. The Rosseland mean radiation paths in the plasma (Z = 10) are presented as a function of density, together with tables of the ionization composition of the plasma.
