Diffraction of a plane wave by a sphere with a circular hole
Abstract
Development of a method which makes it possible to obtain a mathematically rigorous solution to the problem of diffraction of an electromagnetic wave by an ideally conducting hollow sphere with a circular hole. The method employed is based on a reduction of the system of functional equations of the problem to a system of Abel integral equations, the solution of which makes it possible to obtain simpler functional equations and to reduce them to a single infinite system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind.
