Evidence of outgassed water vapor as detected by an on-board mass spectrometer
Abstract
A cryogenically pumped positive-ion and neutral-species quadrupole mass spectrometer was flown as part of the instrument payload in a balloon-borne experiment at 28 kilometers altitude. The relevance of the outgassing problem and the relationship of the measured water vapor density to the results of other experiments in the payload are discussed.
