Acoustical effects of mechanical short-circuits between a floating floor and a steel deck
Abstract
The influences of some common methods of installing a watertight connection between a floating asphaltic floor and a steel deck on the sound insulating properties have been investigated. The measurements show that the application of a layer of self-adhesive foam plastic or a layer of butyl filler between deck and asphalt is much more favorable than a solid strip of asphalt.
